Three days later, we learn that neither Penta nor Stratton were originally supposed to win their respective ladder matches. By: False endingit had to be Bron Breaker and Roxanne Perez.

While it’s currently unclear why the changes were made, Penta made a big impression on some backstage after his main event match with Roman Reigns in Mexico. Some people reportedly believed it Penta deserved to stay at the top of the card and is the main star. It is believed that he could get a rematch against Reigns at some point.
As for Stratton, his character is friends with Chelsa Green. Greene currently holds the SmackDown Women’s Championship. They spent the build for MITB hoping Stratton could win so she could cash in on the Women’s World Championship and they could both win. During Stratton’s first run with the bag, she eventually reached out to her mentor and friend, Nia Jax, and successfully cashed in to win the title.
