Ask Echo T-LOCK 4.0 Review: Don’t Knock The T-LOCK

There’s a lot of cool gear in the world of golf equipment that doesn’t always fit rightMost searched textsoBuyer’s guide. You also want to know how it works. In our We Tried It series, we put the tools to the test and let you know if they work as advertised.

What we tried

Ask Echo T-LOCK 4.0 Cart Bag.

Who is tested

Tyler. Soft Goods Testing Manager and Denver Bronco super-fan. The T-LOCK 4.0 is big and roomy in the best way and I can’t wait to share my thoughts.

I’m used to bags, so it was intriguing to take the T-LOCK 4.0 on a test drive. I was pleasantly surprised.

Pros

The 14 full length dividers are nice as hell.

I can’t stand when my clubs get stuck in the bottom of my golf bag because of the grips that stick. It’s inconvenient when you’re trying to get those clubs back in the bag or when you’re preparing for your next shot. The 14 full-length dividers offer the easiest solution with each club having its own dedicated spot.

Ask Echo puts in extra thought around the slot putter as well. If you have an oversized or jumbo grip, it will fit. My Scotty Cameron Newport 2 with a normal grip fits perfectly with plenty of room to spare.

Additionally, there is a small groove on each divider that locks your club in place to prevent your clubs from slamming together with every bump in the road. If your clubs hit uneven ground, you should consider the T-LOCK 4.0.

The storage space provides enough space to store everything you need on the course and more.

My favorite was the insulated pocket to keep drinks and snacks cool. I can fit six Diet Cokes with room to spare. Ask Echo went above and beyond to make sure you got the room you needed. If you want to put some ice in there to keep your drinks cooler, there is a little place for the water to drain when the ice melts.

The T-LOCK 4.0 has an easy-to-use belt pass that allows you to access the pockets without welding.

The last positive piece I would like to touch on is the price. The model I tested came in at $212.49, but some colors are listed as low as $179.99. I’ve compared these prices to the cart bags in our 2026 test pool and you’ve got a bargain right there.

cons

You know you’ve built a solid product when the consumption section is as short as this will be. My complaints are minimal.

  1. Your hats won’t fit properly when your clubs are in the T-LOCK 4.0. This isn’t the end of the world because of grooves that lock your clubs in place, but it can be annoying if you like to keep your hats on when those specific clubs aren’t in use.
  2. Since it’s a cart bag, it’s bulkier than I’m used to (9.35 pounds). I normally use a stand bag, so I was surprised to see the extra girth of a cart bag. If you are used to carrying bags, this probably won’t be a problem. If you’re transitioning from stand to cart, be prepared for a heavier bag that will take up more space.

Final thoughts

I’m not looking forward to the day where all my rounds will be played with a golf cart, but the T-LOCK 4.0 has given me a light at the end of the tunnel.

The 14 individual dividers were a good first step and the notch to hold your clubs in place was the cherry on top. With the cost of golf equipment rising, keeping your club safe and sound is more important than ever, and you get that protection with the T-LOCK 4.0.

The T-LOCK 4.0 is available in eight different colors, giving you the ability to customize your look. The Ask Echo logo is loud, but not so loud that you hate it.

If you’re in the market for a new cart bag and looking for something with plenty of room, a large insulated pocket, and great club protection, I recommend giving the Ask Echo T-LOCK 4.0 a serious look.
