Are the Chiefs back? Plus pivotal fantasy Week 2 adds

It’s fair to call Kenneth Walker’s debut the best signing of any season. He took control last night With bosses on the back.

A normally stout Broncos defense was helpless. The former Seahawk hauled in 23 carries for 173 rushing yards, tying Travis Kelce for the team lead in receptions and scoring twice. He had more runs of 20-plus yards (two) than the entire Chiefs backfield (one) last season.

“He’s just a special ability to run the ball hard, between the palms of his hands,” Patrick Mahomes said.

That puts pressure on Mahomes, who had just 184 passing yards coming back from knee surgery. Heavy run packages negated Denver’s elite pass rush and opened up the missing element of Kansas City’s offense. This offense is once again terrifying. And this time in different ways.

The power level moves

No team has jumped more in us. Week 2 energy levels Instead of Kansas City, while Denver fell After the loss. The biggest changes:

The other team to jump seven places? The giants. Both the coach and the quarterback won the first challenge:

John Harbaugh brought physicality For a team in need. “I don’t think anyone is going to shy away from saying it was the hardest training camp of their career. The impact was obvious,” said 10th-year veteran right tackle Jermaine Illuminor. The run defense held Dallas to 3.4 yards per carry after allowing 278 yards in two games last year.

Meanwhile, Dart was methodical.. He completed 79.3 percent of his passes, second among Week 1 quarterbacks, and added an injury-free 54 rushing yards, also second at his position. His pass rate? Behind Trevor Lawrence.

“I felt really comfortable. I thought we did a really good job of staying on track the whole game,” Dart said. “I thought (Matt Nagy) called a great play.” Darts are up to No. 19 inches. Jeff Howe’s QB Stock Report.

And that was limited by the half when star receiver Malik Nabers returned from a knee injury. So yes, Dart climbing may continue..

I want both Walker and Darth in my fantasy teams. In Care Of…

Adds virtual week 2

As the past few seasons have shown, early draft picks tend to win more fantasy leagues than any other week.

  • In 2023, Pukka Nacua and Kieren Williams, who were listed in less than 1 percent of leagues, were the consensus highs. Both finished 10th in their respective categories.
  • In the year In 2024, Bucky Irving one Clear add After an impressive 6.8 yards-per-carry debut. He will be a top-15 running back.
  • Last year, Harold Fannin Jr. was one of the top picks in Week 1 before ending up as the No. 6 tight end.

Below are my top two additions and a few deep league picks this time around. Considering absent priorities like Jalen Coker and Debo Samuels.

1. Dolphins WR Caleb Douglas. The third-round pick out of Texas Tech’s starting lineup saw him catch five of six targets for 94 yards and a Week 1 target share (25.9 percent), which ranked 12th. all of them Receivers. Already a WR2, he could pass Malik Washington (snorted late) to become Malik Willis’ top target. The 6-4, 4.39-speed Douglas is tough to take down.

2. 49ers RB Kaelon Black. The third-round pick from Indiana looked explosive as he took 15 touches for 70 yards. He could see more work against the Dolphins in Week 2, making him a borderline starting option. At worst, you’ve got the league’s most valuable backup.

“Black has faith in Shanahan and running backs coach Bobby Turner,” writes Matt Burrows. 49ers mailbag. “The last time you could say that about a rookie tailback was 2021, when Elijah Mitchell had 19 carries in the season opener.” Mitchell had nearly 1,000 yards in 11 games that year.

Deep Leagues: Commanders WR Antonio Williams, Mann’s 16.4 fantasy points (four catches, 64 yards and one touchdown) made him Week 1’s top-scoring rookie receiver. His 5.82 yards per route run, valuable data for future production, ranked sixth among receivers, just ahead of Jackson Smith-Njigba. But anger is short-lived; The Eagles’ defense focused on stopping Terry McClarin, while Stefon Diggs saw nine targets and Williams ran only 11 yards. Still, solid fantasy stock.

Like rookie tight end Kenyon Sadiq, the A’s could face a matchup problem. The destruction of creative jets. as well –

  • Giants WR Malachi Fields looked good in his pro debut and had it. One of the best of week 1 (But it was out of bounds). His 72 percent of snaps led the team in receiving.
  • Cardinals WR Kendrick Bourne had eight targets behind Trey McBride, who caught all eight for 75 yards. Sneaky PPR plays in a better offense than expected.
  • Bengals’ T Mike Gesicki had seven targets, 78 yards and a touchdown, more than Ja Marr Chase or Tee Higgins in Week 1. Gesicki is Cincy’s WR3 and a reliable option for Joe Burroughs.

Jake Sealy has a few different moves in it Breakout column of week 2. Now to him.

All with Jake Seeley

My No. 1 RB to add: Woody Marks, Houston. Mark, looking better than he did for most of last year, disappeared into David Montgomery’s bonanza. He may have developed a swing appeal, but even if he doesn’t, he’s worthy of being a top backup.

To increase the number 1 WRJalen Coker, Carolina He registered at 61 percent, so here’s one more to mention. Don’t wait any longer. He should be at least 90 percent, and he has a chance to be the Panthers’ best fantasy option.

My No. 1 concern: Drake London, WR and Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta. Can we throw Captain Jack Strathn in there? Michael Penix looks questionable for Week 2, and Tua Tagovailoa is a question mark — health-wise and game-wise. Until we get Penix back, London is a boom/bust WR3, and Pitts is a fruity, flexible TE1 (especially if a few snaps are lost with the other tight ends).

Full list here. Back to Jacob.
