The All black people will probably be without both Wills Jordan and Jordie Barrett in theirs Nations Championship conflict with Wales next weekend in Cardiff, after the pair picked up injuries at Murrayfield against Scotland.
Jordan left the court early in the second half with what appeared to be a hamstring injury, while Barrett failed an HIA assessment after a nasty collision with Blair Kinghorn’s shoulder.
The back-row duo will be racing against time to be fit for the All Blacks’ Nations Championship match against Wales as they travel to Cardiff to prepare for the second leg of their four-week Northern Tour.
Rennie’s side retained Gregor Townsend Scotland goalless in the second half at Murrayfield, after giving the home side too many chances in the first half.
Edinburgh Rugby hooker Ewan Ashman scored a first-half hat-trick to give the hosts hope, but they failed to capitalize on limited second-half opportunities to get back into the contest.
Barrett was influential in his second half but Rennie confirmed that his appearance at Murrayfield is likely to be his last for the next few weeks.
“Jordie it didn’t work his HIA, so yes, no for sure whether he will to be available this week, bTue we will get a bit of clarity,” the All Blacks head coach said after the match.
Jordan, on the other hand, could miss his first Test with the All Blacks under Rennie next weekend as he walked cautiously on the pitch.
Rennie provided a brief update on the All Blacks’ all-time leading goalscorer.
“Yes, that was (hamstring). He power to have tweaked hamstring. We will to evaluate that and It’s me no for sure of the seriousness of that.”
All Blacks captain Codie Taylor was visibly emotional after the match, where he said how proud he was of the group in difficult circumstances for players and management.
“yes, we asked for that win for him (Logan Cadwallader). I like it I he said earlier, this a week was a a lot bigger rather rugby. That’s it Fr acknowledging one of our brothers WHO had fell, a husband, father, son, WHO was high respected in our group.
“That to be in condition that go out there tonight and get the result, I I know there was a a lot of emotion in the anthem and I’m looking for over that the management, how a lot they were feeling that as good. So there was definitely a bit more of a motivation there that front up in the jersey and represent him.”
