The Young Bucks paid off emotionally tribute to Pacwho they were friends with years before they were together in AEW.
then “AEW Dynamite:“Tribute Show, The Young Bucks Speak Out”Being elite“The vlog where Matt and Nick Jackson discussed their initial interactions with Pac and how they developed a friendship with him.
“If you had asked me last Wednesday what I would have done in Pittsburgh, it would not have been a tribute to one of my best friends, Packy Ben. I just saw him on Wednesday. I saw him on Saturday and here we are at a tribute show. I’m tired of collecting these armbands,” said Matt. “Ben was such a wonderful person. In 2008 our first year in Japan took care of us, we got to Tokyo and I remember we were just a couple of kids from SoCal. We were so culture shocked and he was so relieved to see us, he said. So he took a liking to us and kind of showed us the ropes.”
Matt recalled the last conversation he had with Puck that brought him to tears as he recalled it, during which Puck mentioned that they had known each other for 20 years and they would be 60 in another 20 years.
“I remember we talked recently, (I told him) ‘Man, you know, we met you almost 20 years ago.’ (Puck said) “Nick wasn’t even 20 years old.” And he says: “You know what’s even crazier? In 20 years we will be old people. We’re going to be 60, Matt. He told me that, and it just breaks my heart, “because he’ll never make it to 60,” said an emotional Matt.
He said they were roommates in Japan and bonded during that time, eventually seeing each other in Japan and in promotions like PWG. They somewhat lost touch after Pac joined WWE and Pac also advised them not to join the promotion.
