“I don’t care, I want to be more and more open about this,” Cage said of performance-enhancing drugs. However, he clarified that steroids are not a magic bullet for building muscle and it still requires a lot of hard work. “Do Steroids Work? Absolutely. Did I take PEDs? Absolutely, I never said I didn’t accept it.”
Cage stated that his success was not due to PEDs, although he did admit to using testosterone replacement therapy to help him maintain his shape at age 42.
However, Cage has one important caveat about steroid use. “Obviously there’s a difference between use and abuse in everything, isn’t there?” He pointed out, citing how someone can use alcohol responsibly or start abusing it on a regular basis. “Everybody’s on peptides and they’re great, they’re phenomenal. Again, they are magical. No. They work overnight. No.”

Cage also recalled his earliest history of steroid use, insisting he never touched it until after his first bodybuilding competition, denying he had participated in any during his indy run. “I had a really bad temper in high school and stuff when I was younger, and that’s also one of the reasons why I never wanted to do it. I thought ‘I’m going to lose it because of the roid rage, which is also, I’m afraid to tell you, kind of bulls***,'” he said. Cage then added that people with “roid rage” are likely just using steroids to justify the anger problems they already have, while acknowledging that some people will react differently to the chemicals they inject into their bodies.
