Unlike many other wrestlers, Adam Copeland’s retirement was indeed considered permanent, but despite being told he would never wrestle again, the veteran didn’t just accept the news and slowly tried to recover. Copeland and Mick Foley expressed some solidarity about being forced out of retirement, after which Copeland was asked how exactly he came back.
“I wish there was some method or way I could tell people, but more than anything, I think I’m just very stubborn, and sometimes it’s stupid,” she admitted.
He then recalled going mountain biking with Sheamus in his retirement, claiming he had wiped out on their ride and was surprised he hadn’t somehow strained his neck afterwards. Copeland also recalled that he started acting out all of his fight scenes on the TV shows he starred in, which also never strained his neck.
“I thought. “Well, wait a minute. I think I can do it,” he recalls, “because I also have full range of motion.”
The veteran then saw two doctors, who both cleared him, before returning to the doctor who initially advised him to retire.
“Beth and I were both thinking, “Okay, this is the last boss, this is where it closes,” Copeland recalled. “And he told me he was going. “I can’t fully explain it, except that your diet, your lifestyle, and the way you train have made me say I can clean you.”
