Aaron Donald misses practice with a sore back

The Rams were back on the field Wednesday with wide receiver Puka Nacua, but they were missing a key piece of their defense.

Coach Sean McVay said defensive tackle Aaron Donald would have their first practice before Sunday’s game against the Eagles. McVay declined to speculate on whether Donald is at any risk losing the game in Philadelphia.

“Just taking it one day at a time,” McVay said, via Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com. “I wouldn’t want to say anything of that nature yet, but I think the back is a little sore. And he’s as tough as it gets, and so I’ll continue to have updates throughout the week.”

Donald did not play in Week 1 as he was still growing after deciding to come out of retirement at the end of the summer. He had four tackles, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit in the last two games.
