Ailin Perez details heated UFC PI run-in with Norma Dumont: ‘Everything’ must go viral

Ailin Perez says Norma Dumont confronted her outside the UFC PI bathroom before UFC Vegas 121

Perez recently accused Dumont’s boyfriend, a UFC middleweight
Marcus Tulliuschecking him out at the UFC Performance Institute. Dumont claims Tulio has had to block Perez on social media because he kept tagging her. The Brazilian is just happy to have the chance to hurt Perez without getting arrested.

Still, Perez doesn’t take things too personally. He recently described a meeting with Dumont at UFC PI where things got heated. Dumont reportedly came into the bathroom with his team looking for Perez.

Although Dumont never mentioned the incident, Perez believes the feud is a great way to sell the fight. The Argentinian says she has to work twice as hard to sell fights in a division where fighters are barely salivating.

There were a bunch of girls talking about how I’m going to be next, he’s going to knock me out. And I said, “Okay, let’s go. I’m looking forward to this fight; why not?’ And then my friends also came in to break us up a bit because we wanted to fight a bit, but he doesn’t have a code. The only difference is that I reveal to the fans everything that is going on. He wants to keep what happens behind closed doors. No, no, no, stop, no, this is bullshit. Everything that happens has to spread, you know what I mean? It’s great entertainment and he doesn’t take advantage of it. I will sell the fight as I always do with all my fights. It’s very hard to be a star in a category where girls don’t post or talk about what’s going on outside of the fight, which is what we need, you know? So I’m doing double the work.

Perez (13-2) believes he is already winning the mental war against Dumont (13-3). Although he says his leg is still injured from his last fight, he’s confident he doesn’t need to be 100% to beat Dumont.
