HENDERSON, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders and tight end Michael Myers have agreed to a multi-year contract extension, the team announced Saturday. A league source, who was not authorized to speak on the pending contract, said it was a three-year deal with $45 million and $30 million guaranteed.

Meyer, a second-round pick out of Notre Dame in 2023, is entering his fourth year in Las Vegas and is poised to play a major role in new coach Clint Kubiak’s tight end scheme. That role is expanded further by the star Brook Bowers is out to start the season. Due to knee surgery.

The 25-year-old Meyer has 788 yards receiving on 83 catches for three touchdowns in his career. He is coming off a season-best season in which he caught 35 catches for 328 yards. Since the Raiders drafted Bowers in 2024, Mayer has served in a supporting role. Still, with Kubiak using multiple tight ends in his offense, Bowers will be more of a receiving threat even when he returns.
“I really like this offense, I really like Clint,” Meyers said during training camp. “Getting comfortable, just being the type of player I can be and going out there and showing people.”
For now, Mayer will be the focal point at the tight end position without Bowers. The extension ensures the Raiders are confident he will excel in that role.
“Mike does a lot of things well, and we’re going to try to highlight what he does well in the run game, what he does well in the passing game,” offensive coordinator Andrew Janoko said this week. “The way he finishes every play with the ball in his hands. I think that gives us an advantage.”
Meyer is not only the first member of the Raiders’ 2023 draft class to receive an extension, but also one of three players remaining on the team, along with wide receiver Trey Tucker and quarterback Aidan O’Connell.
