SIGA launches Sport Club Network to share expertise, develop projects and create opportunity

September 9: The Sports Integrity Global Alliance (SIGA) has launched the SIGA network of sports clubscreated to connect clubs from different sports, countries and markets.

“Sports clubs may compete in different disciplines and operate in very different environments, but many of the challenges they face are increasingly similar: from governance, integrity, funding and safeguarding to artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability and international growth,” said SIGA.

The SIGA Sports Clubs Network is a platform to share experiences and knowledge, develop collaborative projects and “connect with people, organizations and opportunities that can help them progress”.

The network is open to clubs from all sports. The club’s priorities, challenges and ambitions will be assessed by SIGA who will connect them with the most relevant experts.

“The network model specifically provides selected submissions based on each club’s actual needs and pathways to projects, partnerships, assessments and other initiatives,” SIGA said.

SIGA is now inviting clubs from all over the world, from all sports, to become Founding Members of the SIGA Sports Club Network.

A key component will be the SIGA Project Accelerator, through which clubs will be able to identify relevant funding opportunities, connect with other clubs, universities, specialist organizations and companies, develop joint project concepts and build international consortia, with support to prepare funding applications.

The Network will also provide access to knowledge and practical opportunities in areas such as governance and integrity, financial and project development, youth safeguarding and protection, AI and digital transformation, sustainability and social impact.

Emanuel Macedo de Medeiros, co-founder and global CEO of SIGA, said: “Clubs are the core cells of sport. Each of them has an identity to preserve, a community to serve and an ambition to fulfill. Having worked alongside clubs and leagues for more than three decades, I know what they can achieve with the right expertise, SIGA’s relationships and the support of the sport. knowledge, experience and global reach at their service.

Through the Network, clubs can combine knowledge and resources to undertake more ambitious projects and pursue opportunities that would be difficult to develop alone. Our independent and neutral platform will connect them with each other across sports and borders, and with sponsors, businesses and specialists, complementing the work of leagues, federations and club associations.”
