Offensive free agent Devon Higgs signed with Hawksthe team announced today in a press release.
While Higgs has spent some time playing overseas over the past two years, the Georgia native has primarily been in the G League after going undrafted in 2023 out of Georgia Southwest State. He suited up for the Motor City Cruise, the Greensboro Swarm and – most recently – the College Park Skyhawks, Atlanta’s NBAGL affiliate.
In six games for College Park last season, Higgs averaged 8.0 points, 2.2 steals and 1.5 rebounds in 20.5 minutes per contest, shooting .567/.300/.750. The 6’5″ defenseman pitched to Atlanta’s Summer League teams in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas in July, averaging 11.5 ppg, 3.2 ppg and 1.5 rpg in six games (21.5 mpg).
The Hawks did not disclose the details of Higgs’ deal, but in all likelihood it is non-guaranteed Agreement 10is set to receive a bonus of up to $91,000 if he returns to the Skyhawks and spends at least 60 days with the team this season.
For now, Higgs will occupy the 21st and final spot on Atlanta’s offseason roster.
