Borg vs Auger-Aliassime in UTS Gothenburg; Rublev completes field

Quarter finals.

Felix Auger-Aliasime (#1) vs. Leo Borg
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs. Luciano Darderi
Holger Ruh vs Alexander Bublik
Brandon Nakashima (#2) vs. Andrei Rublev

Both generations went to the stage winners of the 2026 season. Auger-Aliassime won the Bastide UTS Nîmes in Apriland: Nakashima won UTS Rio presented by XP in July. They’re the two men best positioned to take the year-end crown, and they can’t meet until the finals.

The field includes four players with top-5 pedigrees in Rooney, Tsitsipas, Auger-Aliasime and Rublev. Bublik has been a top-10 player this season, Nakashima and Dardery are rising to top-20 players, and Borg is a local hope.

UTS is an event where you have to commit fully to win

Rublev is the last man. He is also a two-time UTS champion, in Frankfurt 2023 and Oslo 2024, and one of the format’s staunchest regulars. World No. 22 Auger-Aliasimme suffered sudden death in the semifinals in Nîmes in April. He also won in Sweden this year. in July, he beat Darderi to win his second Bastad title, the 18th of his career.

“UTS is an event where you have to commit fully to win,” Rublev said. “I’ve been through all kinds of emotions on this tour, and I know from experience how exciting the year-end event is. It’s also a real pleasure to be back in Sweden, where I won the cup in Bastad this year.”

His quarterfinal match against Nakashima is 3-1 in favor of the Russian. Rublev’s last two victories both came in the 2024 Masters 1000 Round of 16 in Cincinnati and Canada.

Rune and Bublik already know each other on the UTS Tour

Nakashima’s only win came on clay in Barcelona that same season. The American arrives in Gothenburg as a different player, however. he is ranked 17th, reached the Masters 1000 final in Montreal and won the UTS title in his first attempt in Rio.

Tsitsipas and Darderi bring the richest recent history of four quarter-finals. The Greek leads 2-0 after a straight-sets win at the Shanghai Masters this month and a three-set match at Halle in 2025.

Dardery, ranked 23rd and the 2025 Bastard champion, is the higher-ranked player and has a score to settle. They have never played each other under UTS rules as Dardery will be playing in that format for the first time.

Rune and Bublik already know each other well on the UTS Tour. The Dane knocked out the Kazakh in 2023 at UTS London in sudden death and again in 2024. Rooney also leads their ATP head-to-head 2-1, including a home win in Paris 2024, the same conditions they will face in Gothenburg.

The quarterfinals are all played on the first day. The second day features five matches: classification, semi-finals and final, which determine the champion and the year-end standings. The winner could earn up to $511,000.
