19 October – The Athletic Club has renewed its sponsorship with Vueling until 2030, with the airline appearing on the sleeve of the men’s first team shirt.
Vueling, a partner since 2018, continues as premium sponsor and official airline. Their logo moves from the front of the match shorts to the left sleeve, while it remains on the training shorts. The new position debuted in Saturday’s LaLiga game at Valencia.
The renewal brings the partnership to eight years and comes with a “shoulder to shoulder” campaign based on mutual support, belonging and teamwork.
A new design for the club’s brand aircraft will be revealed in the coming weeks. The plane has carried the white and red of Athletic to more than 70 European destinations, it has flown nearly 1,300 times with more than 197,000 passengers.
For Athletic, the sleeve has a particular weight. The club, which only features players from the Basque Country and its surrounding region, has historically been selective about its shirt branding, with sponsors who stick with it long-term often building into its identity rather than simply adding them to the shirt.
The switch from shorts to T-shirt gives Vueling more visibility in broadcasts and photography, and reflects a relationship that both sides have chosen to deepen rather than renegotiate from scratch.
