arsenal Midfielder Eberechi Eze says the Gunners face “a different challenge” this season after finally winning the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta delivered the title in May and also led the Gunners to the Champions League end
Eze got the goal in a 3-0 win at Lille who continued their impressive form. And the former Crystal Palace man admitted the goalposts have now moved at the Emirates.
He said: “It’s a different challenge now to what we achieved last season and we want to continue to build on that.
“We approach it from a slightly different angle, but the mentality is still the same: to be ruthless and dominate as much as we can.
“It’s difficult, every player wants to play. The mentality is to always be on the pitch, affect games and earn your place. I’m doing what I can, enjoying what I’m doing.”
“I’m always happy to score, to affect games and to have fun on the pitch and expressing myself.”
It was just seven minutes and 18 seconds between Jurriën Timber giving Arsenal the lead and Bukayo Saka making it 3-0.
The Gunners have such strength in depth that Arteta must be aiming for that Champions League trophy this time around.
“It’s difficult in the Champions League – Lille are a brilliant team,” Arteta said.
“But winning helps – the energy will be good as we start preparing for Sunday’s game.”
