AEW All Out 2024 was an absolutely massive pay-per-view, with “The Executioner” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland’s steel cage lights closing out the event, right after Jon Moxley delivered a stunning pinfall on AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson. Earlier in the night, Pac and his incredible athletic ability were on display against another incredibly gifted athlete, Will Ospreay, and the pair did their best to steal the show. They fought for the AEW International Championshipand despite his loss, it was one of Pak’s best matches.
In their first match in AEW, Pac and Ospreay had a blowout that lasted only 20 minutes. Before they even locked up, the whole arena was on their feet in anticipation and Pac did a “B******” move and left the ring to try and calm them down. Commentary noted that Pack, one of the greatest British high-flyers in history, was walking the way stars like Ospreay could run.
The match was fast paced from the start and the stars couldn’t contain each other. They traded vicious Sky Twisters from the top to the outside and beat each other down in and out of the ring. Ospreay was already struggling with the neck, which was evident during the match thanks to his neck strap, and Pac targeted it throughout the match, albeit in more unique, interesting ways at first with moves like the Avalanche Brainbuster and Liger Bomb before a straight pump hit the base of his neck.
Justifiable chants of “fight forever” began about halfway through the match, after Puck sidestepped the Hidden Blade and kicked out of the Os-Cutter. He continued to target Osprey’s neck with a suplex to the apron followed by a Venom before locking in the Brutalizer in the middle of the ring. Ospreay countered the Black Arrow with a knee up and the match went into a flurry of offense typical of Ospreay matches, kicked up a notch or two with Pac as the opponent.
Eventually, Ospreay went for the Stormbreaker and Pac countered with Venom. Osprey managed to pull off the Styles Clash on the Hidden Blade for the win and the title retention. It was one of those matches that left fans gasping and needing a pause to soak in what they saw.
The game’s Cagematch rating reflects this, with a score of 9.25 with 909 votes as of now. Pac vs. Ospreay was also one of the highest-rated all-star matches of 2024 by Dave Meltzer, who gave the bout five and a half stars. It’s also the only Pac game to receive five or more stars from Meltzer, showing just how perfect these two were as dance partners.
