With rival Kendall Gray still on the shelf and Ren Sinclair suspended for the storyline, it emerged: Tuesday’s edition of WWE NXT that Kelani Jordan’s next challenger for the title will be decided next week as part of the 20-woman battle royal team. The winner will face Jordan at Halloween Havoc.
Jordan was cutting a promo in the ring when NXT General Manager Robert Stone interrupted her to say that “the women’s division will decide their next opponent”. He revealed that this will take place in a battle that will feature not only NXT talent, but major stars as well as women from WWE EVOLVE, AAA and TNA.
Stone barely finished her announcement before the champion was attacked by Reina Volcano, who returned to NXT last week after blindside Kali Armstrong. Volcano told the camera at ringside that he will be in the battle next week.
WWE revealed later in the night that the competitors would include NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria, AAA Reina de Reinas Champion La Catalina, TNA Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside, TNA’s M and Heather by Elegance, Lizzy Rain, EVOLVE Women’s Champion Nikkita Aile and others.
