World Wide Technology Round 3 tee times: What to know
The 2026 PGA Tour season is at an end, and so is the opportunity for players to secure their status for 2027.
Thirty-six-hole leader Ben James (-15) is already well positioned for next year, with a current FedEx Cup Fall ranking of 62. But a win this week has pushed him to No. 52, and if he can grab that spot through the RSM in two weeks, he’ll be guaranteed an invite to the first two AT-AmT Events and Genesis next season. of which they present limited fields and grants of $20 million.
The man who shot behind James on the leaderboard, Peter Malnati, is in a very different situation. Currently ranked No. 157, a win this week would push him to No. 81 – and into the safe zone of exemption 2027. Second place, however, would not be enough, although it would push him to 107 with two tournaments to go.
With 15 players within five shots of James’ lead, he will have to keep his foot on the gas for the next two rounds.
James will leave at 12:42 pm with Peter Malnati and Zac Blair.
