Favorite: Ohio State walked all over Ball State in Week 1, scoring two touchdowns in each quarter en route to a 56-3 victory. Julian Sayin completed 21 of 25 passes and threw three TDs, while Jeremiah Smith had 151 receiving yards and two scores. Now the real season begins. OSU will travel to face Texas in Week 2. Longhorns star quarterback Arch Manning threw for 305 yards and four TDs in their 59-7 rout of Texas State in Week 1. These two teams met at The Shoe in last year’s season opener and the Buckeyes came away with a 14-7 win. Time for round two.
Big Ten Ballyhoo: Oregon was the third +750 pick entering Week 1, but after barely surviving a slugfest with Boise State at Autzen Stadium, the Ducks have fallen to sixth in the standings. At one point, the Broncos led 17-7, and the game was tied at 27 at 8:45 of the fourth quarter. The Ducks are at Oklahoma State in Week 2. That wasn’t the talk of the weekend from the Big Ten, though. Michigan, which was at +4500 to win it all entering Week 1, is now at +10000 despite falling to 1-0. Why? Well, most believe the Wolverines should be 0-1, after a questionable call gave them a chance for a last-second Hail Mary attempt, which they turned into a game-winning TD.
