PRINCETON, NJ – Sam Houde of the Wheeling Nailers is Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week from December 13-19.
Houde scored four goals, added six assists and was up 6 when the Nailers won a streak of three games in Norfolk last week.
The 21-year-old scored six points (3 goals – 3 assists) in the 7-2 win on Wednesday, added an assist in the 3-1 win on Friday and scored one goal and two assists in the 9-2 win on Friday Saturday.
Under contract with Wilkes-Barre / Scranton of the American Hockey League, Houde has scored 13 points (4 goals – 9 assists) in seven games with the Nailers, while adding two points (1 goal – 1 assist) in eight games with the Penguins .
Before turning pro, Houde recorded 164 points (62 goals – 102 assists) in 232 career games with Chicoutimi of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
In the name of Sam Houde, a box of pucks is donated by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier to ECHL, to a wheeling hockey youth organization. Since sponsoring the award in 2000/01, Inglasco has donated more than 45,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
