What should Deontay Wilder do next after losing to Tyson Fury in Las Vegas on Saturday?

Barry Jones

He has shown that he has loads of bottles. There are so many good fights for him. Take some time off, keep working on what he was working on before and it would be a great fight for him to come back against someone like Andy Ruiz. The only reason I didn’t mention Joshua and Usyk is because they’ll have to fight again.

It depends on what he wants. He made millions. But because of the way he fights, the way he approaches fights, he will always be a big draw. He has just met his archenemy. I don’t think rebuilding Wilder is that difficult. I would still like to see him against Anthony Joshua.

Deontay Wilder is an interesting one. I wouldn’t mind seeing him versus Andy Ruiz, some sort of internal PBC match-up that’s easy to do. He against Dillian Whyte would be a great fight. But Wilder vs Ruiz is a natural fight for them.

After successive defeats he has to rebuild with a comfortable win. I know top fighter doesn’t do that now, but he should. That assumes he doesn’t retire, which I don’t think he will and I hope he doesn’t as he continues to be great for the division.
