UFC Vegas 33 outcomes: Matches to make for ‘Corridor vs Strickland’ major card winners

UFC Vegas 33 went down at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada last night (Sat. July 31, 2021) in a middleweight bout in which Sean Strickland unanimously defeated Uriah Hall after 25 minutes of action (see here). . In another action, Cheyanne Buys absolutely demolished Gloria de Paula on her way to a lightning-fast knockout win in the first round (see it).

Winner: Sean Strickland

Who to fight next: Jack Hermansson

Strickland took his fifth straight win after dominating Uriah Hall for 25 minutes. Next up should be a fight against Hermansson, “Joker” comes with a big win against Edmen Shahbazyan and gives him his second win in the last three fights. In 6th place, Hermansson is currently five places ahead of Strickland, although they will be a little closer in the rankings later this week. This would be a great test of the rising competitor who could get him closer to the top 5 if he can.

Winner: Cheyanne Buys

Who she should face next: Jinh Yu Frey

To overshadow Buys’ grand win over Gloria de Paula is just the talk of how broke she got into the fight. A nice post-fight bonus of $ 50,000 will help alleviate these problems. But Buys looked great and dominated Paula for a lightning-fast finish (see it). Since she escaped unscathed and barely sweat, she was able to quickly make another payday. A fight against Frey seems appropriate as she was victorious in “Sin City” last night too, defeating Ashley Yoder unanimously. Frey also has a win over Paul.

Winner: Jared Gooden

Who to face next: Daniel Rodriguez

Gooden snapped his tackle with an impressive first-round knockout win against Niklas Stolze, his first win in the Octagon after three attempts. He has a way to go before he gets the bigger fights everyone wants. But right now I’d like to see him next against Rodriguez. Fresh from a knockout first-round win himself, Rodriguez beat Preston Parson at UFC Vegas 31 last month. Before that, he dominated Mike Perry for 15 minutes. Both men can crack, so a Fight of the Night performance could take place in their future if they team up.

Winner: Melsik Baghdasaryan

Who to face next: Charles Rosa

Melsik made an explosive debut, knockouting UFC newcomer Collin Anglin to give him his sixth straight win. A fight against Rosa – which spawns a split decision victory over Justin Jaynes – sounds tempting. Rosa has been fighting for the UFC for seven years now, but has only participated 10 times during that time. He’s alternated wins and losses to hit a straight 5-5 mark, so he didn’t exactly take the steps to get into the top 15. Defeating Melsik won’t get him there, but it’s a start.

Winner: Jason Witt

Who to face next: Nicolas Dalby

Witt scored a majority decision win over Bryan Barberana and brought him back to the Victory Column after suffering a 16-second knockout in his previous fight against Matthew Semelsberger. I would love to see him face Dalby next. Dalby suffered a heavy loss to Tim Means a month ago, his first loss in three years. They have a similar fighting experience and both are trying to fight their way up in a very crowded welterweight division.
