UFC Vegas 33 outcomes: Greatest winners loser from ‘Corridor vs Strickland’ final night time

UFC Vegas 33 went down last night (Sat, July 31, 2021) at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a middleweight bout in which Sean Strickland unanimously defeated Uriah Hall (see here). In another action, Cheyanne Buys absolutely demolished Gloria de Paula on her way to a knockout win in the first round (see it).

Biggest winner: Sean Strickland

Strickland put in a dominant performance in his very first headlining bout for UFC and took him to Uriah Hall for five rounds for a unanimous decision victory. It was pretty one-sided as Strickland controlled the distance, used his jab perfectly, and landed his shots when they counted. In fact, he stunned Prime Time more than once, despite Hall sticking hard to avoid the downtime. Hall persevered and fought to the end, but it was too little, too late, because Strickland had already done enough to earn the nod. He’s improving his winning streak to seven and is likely to take a big leap up the ladder next week.

Runner-up Up: Cheyanne buys and Melsik Baghdasaryan

Buys came out of hell like a bat and absolutely creamed her opponent Gloria de Paula. From there, “Warrior Princess” pounced on her wounded enemy and delivered some mean floor-and-pounds to get a quick end to the first round. As for Baghdasaryan, he made a big appearance on his UFC debut, beating Collin Anglin in the second round to take his sixth straight win (highlights). As a result of their explosive victories, both fighters earned $ 50,000 in bonus rewards after the fight to make their nights even sweeter.

Biggest Loser: Ryan Benoit

No, Hall isn’t the biggest loser, even though he fell short and broke off his winning streak with four fights. He fought like hell but just met a better fighter and even showed his toughness by surviving a few horrors during the 25 minute war. Benoit, meanwhile, may be on the way out of promotion after suffering his third straight loss after losing to Zarrukh Adashev. He’s now 1-4 in his last five fights and moving to 3-6 overall in the Octagon. In eight years with the company, that’s not good enough to hold onto a bloated squad. But if he’s lucky, the UFC matchmakers might give him one more chance to get things right.
