Kane a no-show at workout

Harry Kane did not report to Tottenham Hotspur training after his European Championship efforts. The Englishman was scheduled to return this morning for Covid testing but chose to stay home to push through a move this summer.

Sources have told both the Manchester Evening News and Football.London that Manchester City are unlikely to pay the amount needed to sign the striker who has 3 years left on his current contract in north London.

However, that hasn’t stopped Kane from forcing Chairman Daniel Levy’s hand to part with his talisman, who scored the most goals and provided the most assists in the Premier League last season.

However, according to Alasdair Gold, Tottenham correspondent for, the move did not go down well with the Spurs hierarchy. In fact, he reports that:

“The Spurs are expected to be even further on their heels than a player who signed a six-year deal with the club in 2018.”

It seems certain that regardless of the outcome of this stalemate, Kane has permanently strained his relationship with Tottenham believers.

Romero deal completed

In better news for Tottenham fans, it seems like a deal for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero is getting closer.

According to the same source, Tottenham are “confident” that a deal worth around £ 42 million (€ 50 million) will be closed after Atalanta finds a suitable replacement.

Romero, for his part, was keen on the move and insisted on it. Fabrizio Romano says he “wants to join Tottenham” [a] Priority’. If he arrived in north London, Tottenham would have secured an important piece of their defense puzzle for several seasons.

However, the Harry Kane cloud continues to threaten.
