I assumed that any UFC event hosted in “The Lone Star State” would almost certainly involve one of its newest residents; But unfortunately longtime color commentator Joe Rogan will be in Houston this Saturday night (August 7th).

For the podcasting giant, former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz will take over, who will help name the martial arts action alongside veteran play-by-play man Jon Anik and retired UFC heavyweight Daniel Cormier.

That’s according to MMA Junkie, with Megan Olivi doing roving interviews while ESPN utility player Brett Okamoto joins retired ex-UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen and First Take co-host Max Kellerman for the network desk Service connects.

Bruce Buffer has the microphone in the Octagon.

UFC 265 will host the preliminary heavyweight title fight in which Derrick Lewis competes against Ciryl Gane. Elsewhere on the map, former featherweight champion Jose Aldo continues his 135-pound run against bantamweight Pedro Munhoz.
