The Irish View: Adrian Wall’s three horses to observe at Sligo on Wednesday

Spread the love

Sligo is a nice stretch from a betting perspective. In general, you need a bubbly guy who usually likes to be around the pace. It’s very rare for a horse to come from behind to win here, given the sharp nature of the track. I’ve picked out three horses that are supposed to go near the venue on Wednesday.

1.15 Sligo

The one trained by Patrick Martin Crystal basin arrives at the top of their game here and could be a tough nut to crack in the opening handicap on the map. She won two of her last four starts and finished second on the other pair while also receiving a cheap draw in stable five so should get a good position on the rail. Dylan Browne McMonagle also takes off a very manageable 3 pounds.

2.17 Sligo

Miss Myers didn’t park the ideal draw in stall 10 but should get away with it over 1m2f. Sligo is a sharp right-handed stretch and it’s usually worth hanging out with a celebrity runner, so positioning early is key. She brings strong form to the table despite only winning once out of 23 flat starts. Arrived here over this distance after three solid efforts in a row, the form of her fairyhouse run worked well, with Takeachancejimmy winning next time.

3.27 Sligo

Joey Sheridan is one of the best claims in the country and will ride Mist of the deep for trainer Fozzy Stack. The Starspangledbanner daughter hasn’t shown much in three starts, but was very well covered on her debut and was anything but out of favor when it comes to the day. This will be the first time she hits soft ground in the description and she is an interesting runner on her first-time blinkers handicap debut.
