Ronaldo agent Jorge Mendes flies to Turin to debate Manchester Metropolis-linked star’s Juventus future

The Portuguese ace saw his name related to the Etihad Stadium after Harry Kane pledged to stay with Spurs

Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes will fly to Turin to compete with the Juventus bosses on the striker’s future at the club.

Ronaldo has linked his name to Manchester City looking for a center-forward after ending their pursuit of Harry Kane.

target understands that the ex-Real Madrid and United star will play an important role in the talks between the agent and the Bianconeri.

Does he stay or does he go?

Mendes arrived in Italy on Wednesday, with Ronaldo’s future far from certain. The agent will speak to representatives from Juventus Turin in the coming days in the hopes that a solution will be found between the two parties.

Ronaldo has been with Juventus Turin since 2018 and only has one year left for his current contract in Turin.

City bound?

City were eventually forced to give way in their efforts to sign Kane when the Tottenham striker publicly promised the club his future on Wednesday, declaring he would not leave “this summer”.

Gabriel Jesus is currently the only senior center-forward for the Premier League champions, and Ronaldo’s pedigree and contract situation certainly make him an attractive transfer candidate.

Juve are hesitant to sell, however, and would charge a hefty fee for their superstar after insisting over the weekend that he would stay at the club despite the Serie A 2-2 draw against Udinese.

“Ronaldo is an added bonus for us because he guarantees a lot of goals,” coach Massimiliano Allegri told reporters ahead of the Udinese game. “Of course we also have to work together as a team to get the best out of each individual.

“He always trained well, I just read the gossip in the papers. He never told us he wanted to leave. Ronaldo told me he was going to stay with Juventus.”
