REPORT: Klay Thompson Probably Will not Return on Christmas

According to reports from NBA insider Shams Charania and Warriors reporter Anthony Slater, Klay Thompson’s return to court is unlikely to come in December.

According to Charania, the Warriors do not intend to play in their home games against the Kings on December 20th or against the Grizzlies against Thompson on December 23rd. According to NBCSports, the Warriors plan to bring Thompson back to the Chase Center, which means he won’t be playing at Christmas when the Warriors play against the Suns. The earliest possible date would be December 28th when the nuggets hit town.

In a radio interview with 95.7 The Game on Tuesday, Bob Myers, president of the Warriors’ basketball division, said Golden State has not yet set an exact date for Thompson’s return.

“Everything is fine,” said Myers via Alex Espinoza. “I’m also happy that it is happening. We haven’t even decided internally when it will be. We talk to you [director of sports medicine and performance] Rick [Celibrini] and Klay. But the good news is there is a light. If you’re in that tunnel, it’s been a long tunnel for Klay and you can see that light. The closer we get, like you, I want to see him so much, for our team, for many reasons, for him. “

Recently, Thompson has been in the final stages of rehab after his Achilles tendon injury and is currently focused on his conditioning. This season the Warriors are 23-5 and play against the Celtics on Friday.
