In the main event of the boxing card, world numbering heavyweight Michael ‘The Bounty’ Hunter II (20-1-1, 14 KOs) beat Mike Wilson (21-2, 10 KOs) in the fourth round (2:49) of their planned ten- Round fight. Hunter competed in a WBA heavyweight world title eliminator and looked sharp from the start, displaying his full arsenal of power shots to the brave Wilson’s head and body.
Hunter badly injured Wilson in the fourth verse before landing a sensational right hand on the jaw and dropping the Oregonian hard on the canvas. Despite getting up to hit the count, referee Ricky Gonzalez stopped action at the 2:49 mark of the round.
“The Fighting Pride of Huntington, NY” Chris Algieri (25-3, 9 KOs), who starred in a ten-round welterweight bout, returned with a dominant 10-round decisive win over veteran southpaw Mikkel. back in the ring LesPierre, (22-3-1, 10 KOs), with values of 100-90 (twice) and 99-91.
Former world champion Algieri displayed his full arsenal of world-class skills, including glowing shots in the body, throughout the bout, leaving no doubt that after a two-year hiatus, he could compete in the top tier of the junior welterweight and welterweight divisions.
