“Look, it’s not going to change my driver specs, I’m telling you, and I don’t think it’s going to change a lot of other guys driver specs.

“Is that the answer to shortening it? No. You know, I think so if you have a long drive and see what Bryson did, you see what the guys do with long drives, they have a longer driver, right, and they can keep hitting it but can claim you that on the golf course? Hasn’t been done yet. I’m not saying it won’t be done, but if some guy wants a 47 inch driver I think he should let him, why not.

“We’ve seen courses that end up going under 10-15, and it’s not because the course is 9,000 yards, we don’t play that. This is because you are sculpting shots, hitting different shots, and it’s all about the design of the golf course.

“That is my opinion on this or that I think that the course design has to be structured in such a way that we don’t need 8000 yard spaces. Yes they are great sometimes, but there are many short courses on our tour that don’t offer 25 under par and that’s because of the way the layout and conditions are. So I don’t think many guys are over 46 inches, their driver anyway, so I don’t think much is going to change. “
