Cowboys’ trailer for Hard Knocks looks amazing for this summer
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Keith Kirkwood had to be carried off the field during training.
A frightening moment occurred at the Carolina Panthers training camp when wide receiver Keith Kirkwood was stretched from the practice field after being hit in the head by rookie Safety JT Ibe.
Ibe was kicked out of Panther’s training because of his hit on Kirkwood. Although training was suspended for 12 minutes, it resumed when Kirkwood was carried off the field out of caution. Fortunately, he was able to move his arms and legs while he was still in the field. Even though guys are competing for jobs out there, you never want a teammate to be carried away.
It’s Kirkwood’s sophomore year with the Panthers, who play for former Temple head coach Matt Rhule.
Carolina Panthers WR Keith Kirkwood during training camp off the field
While Kirkwood only has a 13-yard reception in his only game with the 2020 Panthers, he’s a Temple type, and that’s a ton for Rhule’s football team. Temple is one of the most respected schools Rhule trained before becoming the Panthers head coach last season. Even though Temple Tough runs through all the blood of the owls, past and present, it was still a frightening moment at camp.
Overall, Carolina is unlikely to make it into the NFC playoffs this year. The Panthers will likely battle it out for third place in the NFC South with the Atlanta Falcons. While the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are likely to take the division crown, the New Orleans Saints could stumble in their first season without Drew Brees, maybe Atlanta or Carolina could take advantage and finish second?
While Kirkwood could move in his limbs, this was a frightening moment for the panthers.
