Nick Webb says he will knock out Fabio Wardley if he is in the second week of Matchroom Fight Camp on Saturday the 7th.
Webb (17-2, 13 KOs) destroyed Erik Pfeifer in two rounds at the huge Alexander Povetkin vs. Dillian Whyte 2 show at the Europa Point Sports Complex in Gibraltar earlier this year to breathe life back into his career.
“Wild” Webb defeated the accomplished German amateur three times to claim victory – his first since winning the Ultimate Boxxer 6 tournament by overtaking Mark Bennett in Altrincham, Manchester, in December 2019.
The Surrey fighter has been unbeaten since December 2018 and has promised to take five straight wins in a spectacular way if he competes with Dillian Whyte-managed prospect Wardley on the undercard of the all-British IBF featherweight title between Kid Galahad and Jazza Enter Dickens.
“Everything is going according to plan,” said Webb. “I don’t take a fight lightly and I don’t take this fight lightly. I am excited, confident, and ready to go. Everyone looks back at my losses and tries to define me from them. I am determined to show that you cannot define me in terms of my losses. You can only define me by how I came back.
“I think getting back on it just kept my confidence up. I’ll get in there with everyone. The whole opportunity to be in Gibraltar was meaningful. We hung out with boxers I saw before I was younger and so.
“To actually get this victory was just the best feeling in the world. All the hard work and all the agony of getting myself through the losses and hearing all that negative talk. To prove everyone wrong and get out of the other Ending was amazing.
“I think Fabio has had a great journey. I am not the type of person to turn down people and put them down. That’s not me as a person, and I’m not going to do that now, but I still feel like a kid. He’s not grown up yet. I’ve been in the game for a while now. I’ve had my losses and been humiliated. He is now being humiliated.
“I’m going to create devastating problems for Fabio Wardley. No matter which fight I watch – he gets in the ring with me. He wasn’t in the ring with anyone like me. He’ll be upset after the fight, but it’s okay he can come back.
“We’re heavyweights and we’re both knockout artists. That’s why it’s going to be exciting. I’m explosive and he’s explosive. It’s about who connects first. I win this fight by knockout. Tune in on August 7th, some bombs will land and I’ll win. Let’s have it. “
