India’s pacemaker Mohammed Shami was finally rewarded for his brilliant bowling in the first session with a wicket in the second against England in the ongoing first test in Nottingham. Mohammed Shami got rid of England opener Dom Sibley in the third run after lunch when KL Rahul made a smart catch on the short mid-wicket. As a result, the hosts lost their third wicket.
The discharge came over on the 28th when Dom Sibley tried to work one on the leg side; he could not suppress it, however. The ball spooned into the air and KL Rahul, who was stationed at the mid-wicket, did not miss this chance. Sibley’s vigil of 70 deliveries for 18 runs came to a tame end and gave tourists a large opening in the second session. The buck is back on Captain Joe Root to save her.
Previously, English captain Joe Root won the throw and decided to hit first. The young batsman Ollie Pope was absent due to an injury and paved the way for Jonny Bairstow. The hosts have chosen four fast bowlers with Sam Curran, Ollie Robinson, James Anderson and Stuart Broad. India also made headway without a frontline spinner, opting for Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur.
