Midnight Mania! Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor go to conflict (on Twitter)

Welcome to midnight mania!

Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor 3 will happen. It probably doesn’t matter if it happens in six months or six years – the trilogy is troubled, and those two can go away for years without losing their loyal followers. Oh, and the occasional social media beef goes a long way in keeping people interested.

Tonight is a doozy. Usually an exchange between the two online is a few brief signs, a quick shot across the bows that the other is a loser. This time around, however, McGregor and Diaz had a lengthy debate, most of which can be read up below (in as chronological order as possible as their tweets and replies are scattered).

This exchange led to a direct debate between the rivals.

After that exchange, the two split up to subtweet the other, choosing to run essentially uninterrupted slideshows of their respective dominance over one another. Let’s look at Stockton’s native son first:

McGregor, of course, was not silent – here is his presentation:

In the midst of all the chaos, Dustin Poirier intercepted a stray shot. However, is it very strange that Diaz might have accepted Vicente Luque’s reputation? Diaz’s train of thought is rarely the easiest to follow, but he seems down to battle the streaking finisher.

Just another day on MMA Twitter!

The return of shameless self-promotion

After a little over a week, I got infected awkwardly, and I would like to say a big thank you to the 54 (at this point of writing) people who supported this cause. Nice to have you on the team and there is still space on board!

As with all of my professional fights, I collect donations to cover storage costs / actually make a profit through the fight banner. $ 5 or more will get your name / screen name / nickname on the battle banner and you will be entered into a raffle to win the banner yourself. Payment options include Venmo: AndyLRichardson (1572), PayPal, or the latest GoFundMe page. Full details can be found HERE!

And for those who aren’t interested in my fighting career and the e-begging that comes with it, all upcoming Midnight Manias will have the same content as usual. Just skip this section every night and it’s like nothing happened!

UFC 269 could end in a trio of title fights if that fight goes through and the rumor mill about Charles Oliveira vs. Dustin Poirier is correct …

To continue last week’s story of Khabib and Ring Girls, a lot of people are making fun of the former Lightweight Kingpin.

Greetings to Laura Sanko for breaking the ground for the “Contenders Series”!

The most powerful name in MMA returns at Bellator’s Moscow event.

I’m not shocked to see Darren Stewart go after his loss to Dustin Jacoby, but I’ve always enjoyed his fights. If the judges went their way in extremely close fights against Kevin Holland or Edmen Shahbazyan, things might be different! MMA crazy.

I wonder what Paige VanZant is up to after losing Bare Knuckle …

MMAmania Fun Fact: The recently crowned Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Champion Ricky Turcios acted as cameraman for the MMAmania Facebook livestream of my second professional fight!

Slips, tears and knockout clips

Who wants to see the “Contenders Series” return?

Dustin Akbari’s BJJ style is both athletic and sleek:

Okay, maybe the Southpaw’s right kick isn’t always the answer …

Random country

Who is making these videos? Seriously, I’d love to post the original. MMA-related, but decidedly random!

Midnight Music: Glen Campbell’s cover of “Southern Nights” hit # 1 on the charts and is a classic piece of ’70s pop, but Allen Toussaint’s original recording is completely different and quite interesting.

Sleep well maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
