MIAMI – Mike Gesicki and two other close ends of the Miami Dolphins have been placed on the NFL’s COVID-19 reserve list.
Cethan Carter and Adam Shaheen were also paused.
They were put on the list as close contacts, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Sunday after Dolphins co-offensive coordinator and tight ends trainer George Godsey, who was vaccinated, tested positive for COVID-19 and returned home was sent.
Co-offensive coordinator Eric Studesville will lead the Dolphins’ offensive in Godsey’s absence.
The Dolphins had four training camp sessions and had Sunday off.
Miami has four other tight ends in stock.
Gesicki’s 703 yards, awarded in 2020, ranked fourth among NFL tight ends and were the second most in a season by a Dolphins tight end.
