Diogo Dalot’s move at AC Milan

Diogo Dalot would spend the 2020/21 season on loan in Serie A with AC Milan.

The Portuguese left Old Trafford after battling for any kind of regular first-team action.

In Milan, Dalot became an integral part of their team and played 34 times in all competitions.

In those games he scored two goals and provided three assists, which helped the Rossoneri to a 2nd Place in the top Italian league and of course secure Champions League football for the coming season.

Dalot on his ambitions for 2021/22

However, Dalot has since returned to Manchester United after playing for Portugal at Euro 2020.

Dalot has not started any pre-season game but came off the bench in the Red Devils’ most recent 2-2 draw with Brentford.

But his future in Manchester seems something up in the air. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is clearly United’s foremost right-back and was also linked with Kieran Trippier this summer.

This would appear to be Dalot United’s 3. makeapprox Choosing right-back if he should stay this season.

And now Dalot has spoken about his 2020/21 and his goals for this campaign.

In her speech on 2020/21, the Portuguese stated:

“Last season’s goal was to get minutes back and get my legs moving. Be fit. And I had it.

“I think I was one of the few players in that [AC Milan] Team that was available for all the games of the season and that was a very good point for me too, apart from the many minutes and games I played.

“As I said, it was perfect. I met very good people in the club, very good people in town and it was fantastic. The chance to play in another fantastic league has brought me some very good things, not only for football but also for my life. ‘

But as he pushed for his ambitions for the new season, Dalot stated that he wanted to move on and keep playing:

“Develop yourself further. When I’ve had a season like last season, things naturally get more demanding.

“I want to keep playing, I want to keep giving everything I have and improving. I know last season was fantastic, but I can do more. “

Quotes about goal.

So when it comes to regular time, Dalot may have to go elsewhere because even if Trippier doesn’t sign, it’s hard to see Dalot is that many minutes ahead of Wan-Bissaka.
