Manchester United confirmed on Monday that Dean Henderson will be absent from the club’s upcoming Scotland tour.

Sancho in / Varane should follow?

Preparations for the new season are currently underway in the red half of Manchester.

Up until that point in the summer, of course, the vast majority of the conversation about ongoing events at Old Trafford focused on the club’s efforts on the transfer front.

This comes with the fact that the Red Devils finally pushed a deal across the line for Jadon Sancho before turning their attention firmly to reinforcements in the back – in the form of Raphael Varane.

“Training again soon”

Back at the club’s training base in Carrington, however, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is already working hard to put the people available to him through their paces before the Norwegian could prove to be a decisive factor in Manchester.

Next week the United squad will head to Scotland for one final pre-season training camp before the campaign kicks off in a high-profile meeting with Leeds United on August 14.

In return, the boss of the Reds will soon have to make decisions when it comes to his first eleven.

Players like Scott McTominay, Mason Greenwood and new signing Jadon Sancho will be among the hopes of getting a place in Solskjaer’s lineup.

However, the most talked-about of the Norwegian’s upcoming selection calls is the one between the posts.

David de Gea and Dean Henderson were of course forced to compete for the number 1 last time around, with a similar scenario predicted this season as well.

However, as described above, it appears that Solskjaer’s hand could be enforced, at least against Leeds, if the latest word from Manchester United’s camp is anything.

While confirmation At the weekend it was planned that David de Gea would rejoin the Red Devils roster today, but Dean Henderson remains unavailable.

In an official statement released tonight, United confirmed their English goalkeeper will miss the club’s trip to Scotland.
