The Anglo-Nigerian plans to continue his development at Philips Stadium after establishing himself as a key player for the Red and Whites
PSV confirm that Noni Madueke has signed a new four-year deal based on reported interest from Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.
This season, the 19-year-old has scored six goals in nine games across all competitions, including two goals in two league games.
Madueke joined Dutch Eredivisie club in 2018 on a three-year deal after starting his career at Tottenham Hotspur and extending it to 2024 on his 18th birthday last year.
Since his debut in the Dutch premier league in January 2020, the Nigerian descent has established himself as a key player in Roger Schmidt’s team with his goalscoring performances.
“I felt at home at PSV from day one. We will have a great time in Eindhoven with wonderful football evenings,” said Madueke on the club’s website.
Meanwhile, PSV football director John de Jong admitted that several clubs had shown huge transfer interest in the 19-year-old this summer before agreeing on new terms on Wednesday.
“There was a lot of interest in Noni from foreign clubs, but we wanted to keep Noni with PSV for longer,” said De Jong.
“After good discussions with Noni and his family, he was able to extend his contract until 2025. We as an association are very happy that Noni is staying and we look forward to a successful cooperation. “
Unfortunately, PSV were eliminated from the Champions League after keeping Benfica goalless on Tuesday.
Before the draw, they lost 2-1 to the Portuguese club in the first leg.
Madueke was born in Barnet and has played for England’s U16, U17, U18 and U21 level youth teams but is still eligible to play for either Nigeria or the Three Lions on the senior team.
