Is a league-wide break inevitable?
Pierre LeBrun: Get a feeling that the NHL and NHLPA will try to make it through the next few days without shutting anything down. They’ll try to sort things out on a case-by-case basis but it seems inevitable that a league-wide break will come.
- Vince Z. Mercogliano: “I heard a whisper from a league source warning the night so as not to be surprised if the NHL decides to take a break until after Christmas. Based on what Pierre says, this whisper is getting louder and louder. “
Dave Hodge: “I guess there will be a ‘break’ in the NHL schedule when there are no more games to be postponed.”
- Darren Dreger: “All joking aside, that is what it can boil down to. Not enough players to actually play the games. “
Shouldn’t the coyotes build around Chychrun?
Sportsnet’s Luke Fox: Who wouldn’t care about Arizona Coyotes defender Jakob Chychrun if he was made available. He has three years left on his $ 4.6 million deal.
One wonders why the coyotes don’t want to build around it. Is he unhappy or is it because of his injury history? He’s had two knee surgeries and is currently on the IR.
Elliotte Friedman reported that the Coyotes are measuring their interest in Chychrun.
The Coyotes have eight draft picks in the first two rounds of this year and will acquire additional picks and prospects for some of their rentals at close of trading.
“Do you really need more futures than a legitimate hockey player at a good price like Chychrun? Something feels strange about this. “
