Kane would have enormous probability to win trophies at Manchester Metropolis, Olorundare suggests

The top Nigerian veteran gives the reason why the England international should leave Spurs for the reigning English champions

Playing for Manchester City would offer Harry Kane a “big chance” for trophies, according to former Nigerian international Dele Olorundare.

The 28-year-old Kane was slated to return to the Tottenham Hotspur squad before the start of the 2021-22 Premier League season.

The striker didn’t show up, however, and that has fueled rumors that he is joining Pep Guardiolas Citizens.

According to the former goalkeeper from TKI Tavsanlı Linyitspor and Sunshine Stars, the England international’s non-appearance could signal the end of his career at Hotspur Way.

Even so, he supports Kane’s offer to represent the giants of the Etihad Stadium as his Spurs career has not produced any trophies.

“I think this could be a strong indication that the England captain is no longer interested in playing for Tottenham Hotspur,” said Olorundare Gate.

“If so, the club should let him go and start looking for a replacement immediately with the Premier League season in a few weeks’ time.

“Well, many would say he doesn’t set a good example as a captain, but the reality is that no player wants to play for a club that isn’t sure about winning titles and I think that’s where it is going.”

Kane made his A debut for Spurs in 2011 and has since played 336 games in all competitions for the London club.

“Kane has served the club diligently but at the end of his career it matters how many trophies he won with the London club,” he continued.

“Despite his immense contribution to the club and his attacking ability, it’s daunting that he hasn’t won anything with them.

“To make matters worse, they won’t play in the Uefa Champions League next season.

“The manuscript is on the wall and his wish is to represent Manchester City – which I think is a fantastic decision. Now all I expect from Spurs is to give it a decent shipment.

“I think his time at Tottenham Hotspur is over and I am convinced that he would have a great chance of winning trophies with the Citizens.

“It is for this unique reason that I am supporting him in joining forces with Pep Guardiola’s squad.”
