Joshua-Usyk, Taylor-Catterall Spotlight Upcoming Sky Sports activities Boxing Schedule


Josh Taylor will defend his undisputed world title in super lightweight on December 18th in Glasgow against Jack Catterall.

Taylor and Anthony Joshua were the two biggest names revealed on the redesigned Sky programming, the first since Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom group left the network.

Joshua’s fight with Oleksandr Usyk on September 25th will take place at the Sky Sports Box Office, the final fight of the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champions deal with Sky, but Taylor will make the first defense of the title he is united by defeating Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas in May will not be offered pay-per-view.

Sky has teamed up with promoters Top Rank and Boxxer to restart their boxing plan. Other signings include Chris Eubank Jr, Richard Riakporhe, Hughie Fury, Savannah Marshall, WBO middleweight champion, and Olympian Caroline Dubois.

The Sky schedule begins with Joshua-Usyk on September 25 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a show that also sees Lawrence Okolie defending his WBO cruiserweight title against Dila Prasovic. The first Fight Night show is on October 2nd, when Eubank faces Sven Elbir at the SSE Arena, Wembley, on a bill that also features Riakporhe, the former British cruiserweight champion, and a European welterweight title bout between David Avanesyan and Liam Taylor can be seen. Two weeks later, Fury takes on German heavyweight Christian Hammer in Newcastle, while Marshall defends her world title against Lolita Muzeya, a show that also features Lewis Ritson.

There will be a boxxing tournament from Liverpool on November 6th, while the WBO super featherweight title fight between Jamel Herring and Shakur Stevenson will also be broadcast live on October 24th. More fights are to be added to the schedule.
