Undefeated bantamweight contestant Joahnys Argilagos (7-0, 3 KOs), administered by Jesse Rodriguez, will go Minnesota this Saturday the 7th.
Argilagos’ opponent is the tough Mexican veteran Jose Alfredo Chanez (8-12, 4 KOs), who fought in the professional ranks against Michael Conlan. The 8 round bout will be off TV.
“I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring quickly,” said Argilagos. “This is a very good opponent to show what level I am at and to compare my performance with other great fighters. I am ready to make a statement in this fight with a dynamic performance.”
“As a team we believe in him, but we also know that we have to keep him busy so that he is prepared for anything,” said his coach Jesse Rodriguez. “Argilagos is a special fighter and we have big plans for him, but the plan starts with him developing and gaining experience in the ring so that he can translate that into the fights the fans want to see.”
This will be Joahnys Argilagos fighting on a PBC card for the first time, and he doesn’t take this lightly.
“I think PBC is doing a great job of broadcasting their shows and doing amazing boxing matches at the same time, so fighting on one of their cards is special,” continued Argilagos. “I have a tough opponent who is trying to make me look bad, so I’ve been working non-stop since my last fight a month ago July 9th to do a great job.”
