Former English weirdo Jeremy Snape opened the upcoming India-England test series. The highly anticipated five-game test series between England and India will begin next week at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Jeremy Snape announced that hosts would target Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant the most.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are arguably the heart and soul of the Indian batting team, regardless of the format. Indian captain Virat Kohli has not hit a three-digit figure in international cricket since November 2019 and his form has deteriorated slightly. But with 593 runs in the 2018 series, all eyes would be on him.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma still has to prove itself as a test prelude under demanding and test conditions. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane also takes a lot of attempts to stop his inconsistency before time runs out. After all, Rishabh Pant turned out to be one of India’s biggest match winners in test cricket. The English will want to see his back as early as possible in all games.
“I think Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant – they are the threats.” Jeremy Snape told the Times of India. England will seek revenge for the series loss it suffered in India earlier this year, while tourists are looking to win their first series on English soil since 2007.
Top teams always try to beat their rival: Jeremy Snape
According to Jeremy Snape, top teams always aim to beat their rivals. The 48-year-old announced that since India is difficult to travel to, England would like to return the favor on their soil.
“Top teams always try to beat their rivals. England finds it very difficult to travel to India so I’m sure they want the Indian team to feel the same when they come home. ” he added.
