The England international has signed a six-year contract in Manchester and will become the most expensive English player in history. He overtakes Manchester United’s duo Harry Maguire (£ 80m) and Jadon Sancho (£ 73m).
Speaking to the Manchester City website, Grealish said:
“I am incredibly happy to have come to Manchester City. City are the best team in the country with a coach who is considered the best in the world – it is a dream come true to be part of this club.
“For the past 10 seasons they have consistently won big trophies. That Pep came here took them to the next level and the football this team plays is the most exciting in Europe. Playing for and learning from Pep is going to be special and something any top footballer would want.
“The facilities are fantastic and I really can’t wait to get started, meet everyone and play.”
Meanwhile, football director Txiki Begiristain added:
“We are very excited to see Jack Grealish in Manchester City. He’s an incredible talent.
“Jack’s development in recent years, both for the club and for the country, was visible to everyone. His natural talent and commitment to improving himself as a player have made him one of the most exciting offensive players in world football today.
“I’m sure the fans will love to see him on our team. Pep loves the way he plays and we all think he’s an ideal match for Manchester City. Our style and style go together perfectly. I look forward to watching him in the years to come. “

Purslow announced that Jack Grealish had a £ 100m club release clause in the Champions League (assuming Aston Villa was not in the Champions League).
“We have set the value to what we hoped would not be achieved, but that would reflect its truly unique value to Aston Villa.”
Purslow also announced that several clubs have expressed interest in signing Grealish under this release clause this summer and that Aston Villa “Simply refused to support these approaches”.
On Grealish, Purslow claimed:
“It was a very emotional moment when he finally shared his decision with me and it left me in no doubt how difficult it was for him to leave our club, which he joined at the age of six.”
While it wasn’t an easy decision, Grealish clearly made what he thought was the best choice for his career.
