Is Charlie Patino set to be concerned for Arsenal towards Sunderland?

Arsenal take on Sunderland

The high-profile Arsenal will face League One team Sunderland in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday evening, with a view to a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Sunderland won’t be a pushover even for an Arsenal team who won three on the go as the Black Cats are currently ranked 3rd.

As a result, it is unclear how strong Mikel Arteta will line up, having opted for older players in each of the previous rounds of the competition. But will there be a change to this policy with 3 more games between this and New Years Day?

Maitland-Niles missing?

Now Arsenal fans believe they have spotted a massive lead that could bring Charlie Patino minutes to the Black Cats, and it has to do with midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

The Englishman was not seen in the training pictures released on Monday, which, according to Arsenal fans, indicates his unavailability for the clash with Sunderland. Belgian midfielder Sambi Lokonga has already been confirmed to miss the game due to COVID-19, leaving the Gunners threadbare in the middle of the park.

Should Mikel Arteta not want to do without his top pair Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka for the full 90 minutes, only Mohamed Elneny will be available in the central midfield and give the young patino a chance.

Will Arteta finally give Arsenal believers a glimpse into the teen who has quickly become the most hyped academy prospect the Gunners had in years?
