RC Enerson is set to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut with Rick Ware Racing in this Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen International.
IndyCar driver Santino Ferrucci has already made his NASCAR debut this season, driving part-time for Sam Hunt Racing in the Xfinity Series, and Sage Karam is set to make his NASCAR debut in the Xfinity Series race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course driving for Jordan Anderson Racing.
Now another IndyCar driver, RC Enerson, is set to make his Cup Series debut in this Sunday’s Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen International.
Enerson already made his NASCAR debut for SS-Green Light Racing behind the wheel of the #07 Chevrolet in last year’s Xfinity Series race at Road America, but he has yet to compete in the highest level of NASCAR competition.
The 24-year-old New Port Richey, Florida native is set to drive the #15 Chevrolet for Rick Ware Racing.
Enerson is set to start in 37th (last) place in this 90-lap race around the 11-turn, 3.4-mile (5.472-kilometer) natural terrain road course in Watkins Glen, New York as a result of NASCAR’s starting lineup formula, which has been used in place of actual qualifying sessions for most races that have been contested since last August.
Enerson, who climbed his way up the Road to Indy ladder and made his IndyCar debut in 2016, attempted to make his first career Indy 500 start in this year’s running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but he and the #75 Top Gun Racing team were unable to qualify.
In four career IndyCar starts, his best finish is a ninth place effort at Watkins Glen International in September 2016.
Tune in to NBC Sports Network at 3:00 p.m. ET this Sunday, August 8 for the live broadcast of the Go Bowling at The Glen from Watkins Glen International.
