Individuals carry again prime pair defenseman Ben Carroll for 21-22

ALLEN, TX – The Allen Americans and partner Globe Life are proud to announce the signing of defenseman Ben Carroll for the 2021-2022 season.

Ben Carroll played with ECHL Defender of the Year Les Lancaster in the Americans’ best defensive pairing last season. Carroll had 11 points in 65 games.

“When you play at the ECHL, this is the only place you can play,” noted Ben Carroll. “I’ve looked at Europe, but in the end this is where I want to be. We had a great team last year that missed our goal a little. I know Coach Martinson will put together another great team and I expect another deep playoff run. “

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, he joined the Americans at the end of the 19-20 season and played in two games after four years at the University of Alberta. Before that, he played parts of four seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Edmonton Oil Kings.

“Ben (Carroll) is the type of defender you can play against the best strikers in the league,” said US head coach Steve Martinson. “It is one of our high-level adhesives, while it is very low-maintenance.”

The Americans open their 13th training camp this October. Ben Carroll is the third player announced by the Americans, alongside Miles Liberati and Spencer Asuchak.
