Fabinho’s stay in Liverpool

Fabinho joined Liverpool from AS Monaco in the summer of 2018.

The Reds reportedly paid about £ 40million to bring the Brazilian to Anfield.

And since moving to England, Fabinho has firmly established himself as one of the Premier League’s top defensive-centric midfielders.

In total, Fabinho has made 122 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals and preparing seven.

The 27-year-old has also played a pivotal role in the Reds’ recent successes, both domestically and in Europe.

Fabinho signs new Liverpool deal

Given his importance to this Liverpool side, it wasn’t too surprising when reports surfaced in May that Liverpool were making progress in negotiating a new contract for the Brazilian:

And now, on Tuesday, Liverpool officially confirmed that Fabinho had a new long-term deal on paper:

After signing his new contract, Fabinho stated:

“I am happy to have signed a new contract with the club. From the start of the conversation I was very positive about it because that was what I wanted – to stay at this club, keep playing for Liverpool. It’s official now and I’m really happy.

“I’ve been really happy here for the last three seasons. I learned a lot with the manager, with all employees, including the boys.

“We achieved things together and for me this is the best place to continue growing and to learn from the employees, from the boys. Hopefully we will continue to achieve good things. ‘

The deal will not be confirmed by Liverpool, but it is believed run until 2026.
