Derrick Lewis dropped Chris Daukaus for first-round KO

UFC Vegas 45 results: Derrick Lewis stops Chris Daukaus by knocking out first round | VIDEO

Derrick Lewis defeated Chris Daukaus about a first-round knockout on December 18, 2021 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, NV. Then he promptly threw his sports trophy into the crowd.

“It’s gonna be an NFT someday, make some money on that shit,” Lewis said when asked why he threw his cup.

The first round started slowly and none of the fighters wanted to be the first to strike. The fans waited knowingly on the edge of their seats someone would explode. The referee paused the bout for a moment to warn the fighters of their outstretched fingers, and when action resumed Lewis came hot and fired a barrage of punches. Then the fight stopped again.

Seemingly out of nowhere, Lewis went completely crazy and landed a barrage of punches until one landed Daukaus out cold.

Lewis suffered a major loss at UFC 265. The fight was a chance for the preliminary heavyweight title in Lewis’ hometown of Houston. He fell in the third round against Ciryl Gane and wanted to rebound with a chance for another chance at UFC gold.

drove a winning streak of five fights, including winning all of his UFC fights, to date. He wanted to make a big name (and a big name) by defeating Lewis.

This was the last UFC fight of 2021.
