Japan fires opening salvo (1-0)
Jun Mizutani and Koki Niwa gave Japan a good start to their opening doubles in doubles by defeating Korea Republic’s Lee Sangsu and Jeoung Youngsik 3-1 (11-9, 8-11, 15-13, 11-5) . ). The Japanese won the opening game in eight minutes, but Lee and Jeoung got straight back into the game by winning the second game. The match got hot in the third game, but the Japanese eventually triumphed 15-13 before taking the host country into the lead with a 11-5 win in their fourth game.
